Volunteer Week in The East Village: Meet Lisa

If Lisa isn’t pages deep into the latest horror novel, it is very likely you will find her buried in the bookshelves at the VGH Thrift Store. Lisa has been a volunteer with VGH for about three years and enjoys how she can use her love of reading to help others find the perfect paperback.

Like many of the VGH Thrift Store volunteers, Lisa loves giving her time towards such a worthwhile cause. She originally decided to volunteer in order to keep herself busy, but in turn the position has been more than rewarding.

“It’s so much fun to volunteer here. I hope others volunteer at the thrift store too because there is such a great atmosphere here!”

Lisa has been a resident of the East Village for a number of years, she likes going to Platform 7  and the Laughing Bean cafe with her latest reads. “I love how this neighbourhood has everything I need and the people here are all so nice.” Stop by Friday mornings to say hi to Lisa and get some personalized book recommendations.

Want to support a good cause? Volunteer at the VGH Thrift Store today!
