After a successful 2014 “Shop the Neighbourhood” event we are happy to announce that it will be back on Saturday November 28, 2015.
Yellow Pages reported that last year 1,180 businesses in Vancouver participated, uploading 895 deals on to their website. On the day 118,000 people took part in the event and $10.2 million was spent in participating Shop the Neighbourhood businesses. Nationally 200 Business Associations took part and all felt the event was important to raise the awareness of the economic impact of shopping local and to encourage everybody to shop in their neighbourhoods.
We are excited to add this event to our calendar and look forward to even greater participation in 2015. We will once again dress our shopping district in yellow to promote the importance of small business and shopping local.
