National Truth and Reconciliation Day

September 30th - National Truth and Reconciliation Day

We reflect on the history and trauma Indigenous communities have faced in Canada. We acknowledge that we are on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-waututh) Nations.

We encourage everyone to read the 94 Calls to Action from the Truth & Reconciliation Commission* and wear an orange shirt on September 30th.

Reconciliation is not limited to a one day federal holiday, but rather an ongoing practice in which we are committed to at the HNBIA.
