LOVE YOUR CITY CONTEST

Starting Febuary 1st, LOVE is in the air and the airwaves, with colourful street installations in Vancouver retail neighbourhoods, and fantastic prize draws on Instagram!

15 Business Improvement Associations across the city have teamed up to host a month-long #FindLove initiative throughout February.

Enjoy fun-loving street installations including glistening lights, life-size candy hearts, window decals, street decals, and many expressions of love to warm your heart!

Special thanks to the team at TF Event Company and the WKNDRS for heart installations across the city!

Love to win prizes?! We love to give them! Here’s how to enter:

During the month of February, visit our neighbourhood outdoor plaza.
Find the LOVE installation in the area.
Take a photo of, or with it, and post it to your feed or stories. Tag and follow both us @eastvillagevan & @loveyourcitycontest in your post!
You’ll be automatically entered to win the grand prize (valued at $3000+) containing goodies from each area. Look out on their Instagram accounts for announcements on what they’ll be adding to the prize this year. Good luck!

The BIA will celebrate the Year of the Dragon on February 16, 2024, on Hastings Street. Lunar New Year Celebrations are a means of renewing one’s luck and energy for the year. Lion Dances are used to ward away all evil and represent a purging of all things considered ominous. The Year of the Dragon is expected to be a very exciting and powerful year of prosperous business success!

The celebration will include a Lucky Southern Malaysian Lion with 2 Chinese Lion Dancers, 3 Chinese Instrument Performers and 1 Chinese Drum Entourage. They will tour Hastings Street and bless the inside of those businesses that have registered with the BIA. To be blessed, the merchant must contribute a nominal fee of $20 enclosed in a lucky red envelope. We will provide a head of lettuce for participating merchants to hang in their entrance way way, along with a lucky red envelope.
