Come join the team at The Pie Shoppe on Wednesday, August 16th, for an evening of pie baking! Together you’ll chat Okanagan stone fruit, sugars, starches, perfecting flaky crust, and make a seasonal Summer fruit pie menu at a time when the markets and Okanagan orchards are bursting at the seems . You’ll be working with locally grown organic tree fruit; peaches, cherries, nectarines, plums, apricots and locally milled West Coast GRAIN. You will be using the local fresh fruit and preparing all the fillings from scratch for our pies. While the pies are baking, we will have some snacks and drinks.
Nibbles & drinks included! This workshop is perfect for preparing desserts for the summer season. You will also learn about making a good pastry dough, crumbles and custards for pie making and pastry techniques. Everyone will walk away with a whole pie they have made, a booklet of recipes and tips, and a few new friends.
