Meet Anna, manager of the Vancouver Tap Dance Society at 2775 E. Hastings. Anna, who has worked with the society since 1999, fell in love with tap dance when she enrolled her daughter in a class that came with free lessons for parents, too. “I put on my first tap shoe at the age of 42,” said Anna. “I love seeing children being turned on to dance for the first time, and the joy it brings them,” she said. Anna, who lives nearby, loves the community aspect of working with the society, which runs outreach programs (tap shoes provided), offers studio rentals, and participates in local events and festivals, including the Sunrise Summer Kickoff.
